TRANSFORMER BUS DRIVES THE ROCK ACROSS CANADA
You know if anything absurdly entertaining comes through your city then Red Bull’s probably got something to do with it. This time is no exception. They’ve built a fully functional transformer for music lovers in their Home Town Tour bus.
Comprised of three different parts (1967 GMC transit front, 1974 Silver Eagle and 2012 Freightliner Chassis) the fully self-contained unit converts in less than 25 minutes into a complete sound stage and green room.
Equipped with a sound system featuring over 120,000 watt concert audio, a modified hydraulic lift system to raise the roof 35 ft. above the ground and a stage floor that extends 17 ft. wide by 15.5 ft. Deep, the tour bus is a composition of nostalgia, function and wattage.
Travelling across Canada from May 4 – June 8, Red Bull’s Home Town tour will be providing fans with free outdoor shows featuring homegrown performances in five cities from coast to coast.
The tour will jumpstart summer in Vancouver with seasoned indie veterans the New Pornographers and neo-noir Gold and Youth (who also grace the cover of BeatRoute BC’s upcoming May issue).
Catch the show on Saturday May 4, 3 p.m. at the parking lot at the corner of Georgia and Cambie. Click on the poster below for full info on the official website.
