This show focuses on ideas of play, chance, and commerce in contemporary art, discussed from the unique perspective of gambling and games. Each artist in the show has come up with a gaming scheme of some sort to engage the audience in a discussion about the value of art and our current means of valuing and exchanging currency. It also draws specific connections between the survival of the artist in Vancouver and BC’s investment into gambling culture. The show aims to bring together diverse groups to trigger a larger conversation about the intricacies of gambling in society and what a “healthy” gambling environment may look like.
