Vancouver’s Ladyfrnd have unleashed the star-crossed debut of their first single “Un Petit Message” in video format.

It’s dark, it’s sexy and, most of all, it’ll make you squirm a little.

Ladyfrnd_posterThe duo, comprised of once-lovers Peter Ricq (Humans, Gang Signs) and Yuki Holland, present a very personal and intimate snapshot in to their relationship. Draw back the blinds bit by bit through their stark one-shot video (directed by Ricq) and try not to get tangled in the rapture of love that fuelled this passionate project. “Un Petit Message” is simple and effective, structured by the strum of a ukelele and a very staccato electronic drum beat, topped by the hauntingly beautiful croon of Holland’s voice. And like every good piece of film, this one has a surprise ending, all while leaving you wanting more. The track, which is featured on the duo’s self-titled album released earlier this summer on Hybridity Music is also accompanied by two very different remixes by Humans and Sabota (listen below).

But first, feel the crush of that oh so fleeting feeling of love in this little message brought to life.
