On It’s All Shaken Wonder, Edmontonians The Provincial Archive crafted world-weary lyrics drenched in rich synths and clean rhythms.

The 10-track album stays true to their folk roots, with a more polished studio-produced result. Craig Schram sings out “I’m out of order, don’t throw me away” on “Daisy Garden,” but the well-structured arrangements and sunny melodies are certainly rock solid. Banjo makes an appearance, but it is not as prominent as on their previous effort, Maybe We Could Be Holy.

The Provincial Archive have pushed themselves musically to reshape their sound, but fans will still find much to love.
