CALGARY — The Palomino stands to lose a couple pounds on Sunday as bartender and Frankie McQueen front man Scotty Charles, along with AGM Jared Lagasse shed the locks they have been cultivating for almost two decades combined in the name of good causes.
Charles and Lagasse will be chopping it all off to raise money for Brain Canada and the Kids Cancer Care Foundation respectively on Sunday the 9th at 2 p.m.
The event will feature a silent auction towards the cause though donations can be made ahead of time at GoFundMe.
Charles, who hopes to make it a yearly event, chose Brain Canada because of their promising work treating brain disease; something that has affected many members of his family. He is currently halfway to his goal of $3,000 and is taking donations at GoFundMe.
Lagasse chose Kids Cancer Care Foundation for their work helping families fighting childhood cancer in Alberta, offering programs that are uniquely designed to meet the needs of the whole family at each stage of the cancer journey. Lagasse’s donation page is also at GoFundMe.
Like curtains falling on the end of an era, the mighty flowing manes of these two local beasts will hit the ground at 4 p.m. on Sunday. But weep not for the golden hair surprise, for they will find new life as donations for Angel Hair for Kids. So that less fortunate kids who are beating cancer and have lost their hair can roll with a rockin’ do too.
Swing by the Palomino on Sunday, August 9th at 2 p.m. and share in the shears.AB, Alberta, Brain Canada, charity, cut hair for charity, Jared and Scott Cut Their Hair, Kids Cancer Care, Palomino
