Track premiere: Scythia – ‘Laugh of the Tsar’

Monday 02nd, May 2016 / 11:00
By Team BeatRoute

BeatRoute.ca is proud to premiere “Laugh of the Tsar,” the second track from Scythia’s impending fourth full-length album Lineage. Recorded at LSD Studios in Germany and Sonic Pump Studios in Finland, Lineage will be independently released by the Calgary based band on May 4th, and is chock full of Scythia’s progressive power metal leanings, yet newly enforced with an uglier death metal edge.

CALGARY — According to the band, “’Laugh of The Tsar’ was written eight years ago and on Lineage we FINALLY give life to this surreal whirlwind of a symphonic metal track. From beginning to end, the song charges ahead with a fast-tempo onslaught of melodic death metal against an orchestral backdrop with only a brief respite in the middle to showcase Scythia’s ability to weave beautiful slavic-style folk music.”
