VANCOUVER — Since the polio vaccine was invented we’ve been granted the freedom to dip our toes in the filth of public swimming pools with wild abandon, and no fear of paralysis. However, society hasn’t yet evolved to the point where we can be comfortable with our naked bodies. So if you want to partake in summer fun, frolic among the waves or rub chlorine in your corneas, you better find something to cover up the lumpy flesh mound you know as your physical self. A constant source of anxiety for most, bathings suits are a loaded clothing item. If you’re feeling discouraged because you tried on a pair of high waisted bathing suit bottoms made by an artisanal underwear producer out of California that turned your beautiful body into something that resembles a day old muffin, prompting you to question your sense of reality and WedMD delusional disorders, we’re here to help. We drove around town to some of Vancouver’s best boutiques and grabbed every suit we could get our grubby hands on. Then we called some primo musical talent and asked them to slip on the suits, and let us take their photos. This little music magazine is churning out some paradigm shifting content, now you have pages and pages of talented hotties showing off swimsuits you can purchase in your own city! Bikini bottoms will never make you compare yourself to pastry again. After reading this year’s Local Music Swimsuit Edition, beachwear will become your favourite kind of wear. If you don’t want to burn your jeans by the end of this, we’ve done something wrong.
