Bringing that West Coast feel to the local hip-hop scene, Victoria-based artist Forest Moon has been bringing his unabashed vibe and distinct style, giving a re-up as to how one perceives the genre.
BeatRoute is excited to premiere the debut of Forest Moon’s video for “Trees,” a cheeky homage to Vancouver Island grown chronic. Get it? Trees? Their beats that are sure to get your head in motion while the young emcee touches on positivity and partaking in BC’s most notorious extracurricular activity – ganja. The 1000 Trees mixtape release has landed just in time for 4/20 but its release party, which landed back on February 25 in Fan Tan’s Upside Studios, only lived up to the hype, showing a glimpse of how the live performance of Forest Moon stands up, alongside DJ sets from friends Purple Zane and Young Braised – a solid night indeed.
Check out the full mixtape for more classy tracks like “Fuckin’ With 10s” and “Shit To Me,” which take the front seat, bringing listeners something a little new while showing what Forest Moon is about. The custom style that is connected to Forest Moon’s rap and production game is clearly represented from tracks to video. We only expect this young emcee’s career to get higher and higher with each blunted release.
