Inherent Vices – Upsidedowncross EP Vol.2

Inherent Vices
Upsidedowncross EP Vol.2

Inherent Vices, that trio of propulsive post-punk pundits with a penchant for paganism, have released a new EP for your downloadable pleasure. These short and sweet songs are the brainchild of Burnside. Backed by the rock-solid rhythm section of Defektors drummer Evan Brewer and bassist Jeremiah Hayward, Inherent Vices’ songs are launched ballistic-missile-style with precision and purpose. “I Kissed Some Boys Daddy” could very well be a father’s worst nightmare come true, while “Control” leaps out of the gate with sinewy guitar leads and barely sticks to the straight and narrow for all 53 seconds. Their take on the Oblivians’ blues-punk stomper “Bad Man”, is a hybrid moment of Misfits pleasure. While we have a brief “Interlude” before “David’s Song”, things end on a somber and skulking note taking stock of a horrifically hungover person in a tale of missed connections. As they rarely set foot onstage, don’t miss your chance to get acquainted with these gents.
