Victoria-based group Lovecoast has been bringing together their blend of modern day indie-pop and dreamy blue-eyed ‘70s R&B since their inception in 2013. With the release of their debut EP Chasing Tides in 2014, the group began riding a wave of success due the amount of touring they do which helped to hone their incredible must-see live show. Lovecoast’s second release and first full-length album, The Trip will be released in early 2018 and today, BeatRoute is excited to be premiering the first single ‘Lonely’ – one of the first songs the band wrote for the album.

“Unlike most of the songs we wrote around that time (nearly 2 years ago), this one made the cut and really stuck with us,” says lead singer Danielle Sweeney. “The song’s lyrics are based around the themes of loneliness and wanting what you can’t have, that gut feeling we’ve all experienced when we’ve got our eyes on someone else’s prize. Secretly, or not so secretly in this case, we all ask the question, and ‘Lonely’ begs to know what could happen ‘if you were lonely’?”

Lovecoast has a few local shows coming up in November, including their very first play at the Commodore Ballroom opening for Current Swell on November 4. “Lonely” will officially be released and available on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services on Friday, November 3.
