SINGLE PREMIERE: Carter & the Capitals – “One Step From Magic”

Friday 16th, February 2018 / 11:35

Carter & the Capitals spent the last few months of 2017 on tour through British Columbia, ending up in Vancouver, where they spent a few days recording at Fader Mountain Sound. Their upcoming debut album showcases the same funky, upbeat instrumentals the band has widely established in Western Canada and beyond.

Today, the group hits the road to promote their new single “One Step From Magic.”

The single draws inspiration from the group’s soul and funk background, with a strong drumbeat and an easy to follow groove, essential elements of anything the band creates. The mix of smooth falsetto and cheery bass lines create a sexy slowed down jam, a staple sound the Edmonton-based band has become known for.

Catch the band in Amigos February 16th (Saskatoon), Festival Du Voyageur February 17th (Winnipeg), The Rose & Crown February 20th & 21st (Banff), Dickens Pub February 22nd (Calgary) and the Rec Room March 3rd (Edmonton).
