Pouya has been making big waves in the Miami scene ever since performing with Robb Banks back in 2013 under the moniker “Baby Bone”. Tuesday was the rappers first time playing in Vancouver and the atmosphere was nothing short of celebratory. The entire crowd front to back was moshing and cheering delightedly for the entirety of the show.
Pouya started his set with “Middle of the Mall”, the title track from last years release with his musical soulmate Fat Nick. He continued to play hit after hit, spanning everything from the South Side Suicide mixtape he did with Suicideboys, even expertly covering both Ruby and Scrim’s verses on the tours namesake “Five Five”. A few of guest vocal duties were handled by opening act Shakewell. There is no denying the musical chemistry between the two of them. They play off each other perfectly.
The young audience may have shown their age, with over half of the sweaty, moshed out kids pouring out of the Vogue before anyone cheered for an encore. Pouya would quickly return to the stage to perform “Get Buck” and give tribute to one of his best friends, the late rapper Lil Peep.pouya, The Vogue Theatre
