Winter can be majorly unsexy, with cold weather, non-stop rain and shorter days taking a toll on nearly everybody’s mojo. Luckily, CanWest Productions’ Taboo Naughty But Nice Sex Show is here to spice up your February and spank away those winter blues. From February 8 to 10, celebrate all things sexy at the Vancouver Convention Centre East Building Hall B & C. It’s a totally judgment-free, safe space for visitors to explore, have fun and learn more about all facets of sexuality.
Each day is stacked with sex-positive educational seminars, provocative entertainment, fashion shows and live demonstrations. Tons of vendors will be showcasing the latest and greatest in everything you can imagine to spice up that romance; from sex toys, lingerie, BDSM gear and more.
“We’ve been running the Taboo show for well over two decades,” says Sean Libin, vice president of marketing for CanWest Productions. “It’s an opportunity for couples and singles to come together in a safe environment and explore more than just sex as an act, but also love and romance in general. It’s a fully licensed show, so people can grab a drink, walk around and experience everything the show has to offer including free seminars, shopping, free stage entertainment and a chance to pick things up and talk to the experts. You can’t do that on the internet.”
From Friday to Sunday, the WeVibe Theatre will feature a variety of sex-positive educational programs from renowned sex counsellor and educator Dr. Jess. She’ll be showing visitors the ins and outs of oral sex technique, mindful sex and the science of passionate relationships.
Contessa Alura, an alternative lifestyles and sexuality educator, as well as Dana Larsen, one of Canada’s most well-known cannabis advocates, are presenting at the Kink Seminar Theatre. Over the weekend, they’ll be going over everything from marijuana and sex to seminars on polyamory. Bondage for Sex, Pervertables 101 and Asking For the Sex You Want are just a few of the other seminars you can also catch at the Kink stage.
“We’re trying to be informative and positive about sex and do it in a way that’s tasteful and fun for everyone who attends,” says Sean. “None of us would be here if our parents didn’t have sex, so we’re just trying to make that life experience as fun and exciting as possible for everyone, no matter what their preferences may be.”
On top of all the awesome programming, there are a ton of sexy performances on the Main Stage over the weekend. The Miss Pole Dance Taboo competition is taking place each day of the show, with amateur and professional performances throughout the weekend. Catch the Wet Dream Dance Revue grinding up a storm on Friday, a hotter-than-hot performance from Body Heat Male Revue on Saturday, and the Miss BumBum North America best booty competition on Sunday.
The Taboo Naughty But Nice Sex Show visits several cities across Canada, with additional stops in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Regina, and Red Deer. The event is fully licensed and open to 19+ attendees only. Tickets are available for $20 at the door or can be purchased for $15 online.
