The Vogue Theatre
April 4th, 2019
French producer and multi-instrumentalist FKJ graced the Vogue Theatre with an unforgettable performance on April 4. The crowd chattered with excitement as they observed FKJ’s stage set up. Two guitars, two basses, an electric organ, a piano, and alto and baritone saxophones teased what was to come, setting high expectations. FKJ met every single one of them.
FKJ recreates each of his songs on stage, as if inviting the crowd into his studio to watch as he masterfully and seamlessly switches between instruments, adding a bit here and there to each song. Nothing is prerecorded. Right from note one, he had the audience grooving to hits and new beats he created just for this particular tour alike. When he grabbed his saxophone, the place erupted with excitement.
The most incredible part was when FKJ created a song using the audience itself. He turned the mic onto the crowd and had them sing to him, then improvised a beat, the looping cheers of the crowd blowing everyone’s minds.
FKJ’s performance was soulful and energetic. He danced right along with the crowd, feeding off of their energy and gave it right back to them. A phenomenal set from a master of his craft.FJK, Vogue Theatre
