Juno Award-winning Matt Mays is set to hit the endless country roads that criss-cross our country on his upcoming all Canadian tour, which covers a 19-date stretch from Victoria to Halifax.
Aptly titled the Howl at the Night Tour, Mays’ traditional, whiskey-soaked blend of country and rock is made for that final song at the saloon after last call, after the prairies have gone home and the mountains have been put to bed.
With a new video for “Station Out of Range” premiering on BeatRoute ahead of the tour, we’ve had the chance to soak up all the nostalgia and camaraderie on display. The live performance video, shot at the intimate Hayloft Dancehall in Picton, ON, starts off with torn and grainy portraits to set the mood. Mays’ gruff vocals accompany the weeping, lilting arrangement as the band works towards the song’s crescendo, complete with shots of the crowd wrapped up in every chorus refrain.
