After making its debut in Toronto last year, Red Bull Music Festival is returning this October for another four days of innovative music experiences. Festivalgoers can expect diverse artist lineups, each night celebrating the minds that are moving music forward, in unconventional spaces not usually used for parties.
The festival will kick off with a night hosted by psych-pop singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist MorMor, as the artist takes over the Berkeley Church for a curated night featuring music, installations and an artist marketplace. The second night is a late-night dance party that will showcase the city’s diverse electronic music scene with contributions from local favourites like Bambii, Ciel, Chippy Nonstop and Karim Olen Ash; Red Bull Bass Camp alumni Korea Town Acid and Raf Reza; and visiting international guests including Russia’s Machine Woman and Kaizen label head Madam X.
The third night shifts focus away from heavy hitting beats to knowledge-sharing and inspiration, and will feature a lecture from Grammy-winning producer and Toronto native Frank Dukes. He’ll talk through moments in his impressive career and what it’s like architecting some of the biggest hits of our time for stars like Drake, Post Malone, Camila Cabello, Frank Ocean, Lorde and more. Closing the festival will be an evening hosted by Jessie Reyez, who will perform fan favourites and new music at the historic Winter Garden Theatre, with special guests.
Red Bull Music Festival Toronto is happening Oct. 17 to 21. Tickets will go live on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 12pm EST at RedBull.ca/Festivals
