Harbour Event Centre
Port of Miami 2 was a comeback album of sorts for the Maybach master, rapper Rick Ross.
It’s not so much that he’s been absent but in recent years he’s definitely not as much a part of the rap zeitgeist as he once was. After dealing with a number of health issues, including a heart attack in 2018 that landed him on life support, Ross has sprung back into action with a new album and tour that have rejuvenated his rap star status.
Ross is looking happier and healthier than ever. His delivery and energy at the crowded Harbour Event Centre were strong, starting with a trio of bangers, “I’m a Boss,” “Hustlin’,” and “I’m On One.” As the night heated up, Ross did a solid job working in his new material for the attentive audience who had their phones out while hanging on to his every twisted turn of phrase.
It’s easy to forget just how omnipresent Ross has been in the rap game but he was quick to remind everyone who was Boss. Highlighting some of the massive hits he leveraged throughout his career, Ross proved he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.Rick Ross
