Riff-ridden and hooky as hell, Dumb’s latest is also their greatest. The 14 tracks on their Mint Records sophomore embodies an art-punk vibe not far from their indie rock contemporaries Parquet Courts or B Boys.  

Dispassionate and wry, the album is a true document of punk rock in 2019, with their cynical commentary on neurosis, slacking off and drowning in media. Though the instrumentals communicate a consistent tension, duelling guitar riffs and mean bass lines on tracks like “Cursed” and “CBC Radio 3” offer moments of pause and reflection, showcasing the dimension and scope of the young Vancouver band.
